The present specification provides a method by which a terminal performs initial access in a
wireless communication
system, comprising: transmitting a
random access (RA)
preamble to a
base station; receiving a
random access response (RAR) from the
base station; receiving dormant bandwidth part (BWP) configuration information from the
base station, the dormant BWP configuration information being information about a downlink BWP used as a dormant BWP, from among one or more downlink BWPs set to the terminal; receiving, from the base
station, downlink control information (DCI) notifying the activation of the dormant BWP; and stopping physical downlink
control channel (PDCCH) monitoring on the dormant BWP, wherein a BWP inactivity
timer, which is a
timer for the transition to a default BWP, is not used on the basis of the activation of the dormant BWP.
