Systems and methods for generating and using trade areas

ActiveUS20100161376A1Fuzzy logic based systemsKnowledge representationMarket areaComputer science
Methods and systems are provided for determining and using market areas associated with one or more branches of a business. Market areas are determined using a combination of deterministic and probabilistic techniques. Distances are calculated between customers and associated branches and a convex hull formed containing the closest 60%. A block and a tightened block is formed of dissemination areas contained within the convex hull. Where blocks are shared between branches, dissemination areas are weighted according to the portion of customers associated with each branch.

System and Method for Utilizing Available Best Effort Hardware Mechanisms for Supporting Transactional Memory

Systems and methods for managing divergence of best effort transactional support mechanisms in various transactional memory implementations using a portable transaction interface are described. This interface may be implemented by various combinations of best effort hardware features, including none at all. Because the features offered by this interface may be best effort, a default (e.g., software) implementation may always be possible without the need for special hardware support. Software may be written to the interface, and may be executable on a variety of platforms, taking advantage of best effort hardware features included on each one, while not depending on any particular mechanism. Multiple implementations of each operation defined by the interface may be included in one or more portable transaction interface libraries. Systems and / or application software may be written as platform-independent and / or portable, and may call functions of these libraries to implement the operations for a targeted execution environment.

System and method for tracing and/or evaluating the exchange of information

InactiveUS20050015741A1Simple and automatic verificationEasy to storeDigital computer detailsSoftware testing/debuggingOrder formSoftware
The invention relates to a system and a method for tracing and evaluating the communication of software applications, especially MES applications in an entire system. The tracing and evaluation can be carried out progressively or step-by-step on a project level, an adapter level and a port level, i.e. individual communication connections and individual applications, but the entire project is also traced by (even heterogeneous) application environments. The tracing and evaluation mechanisms enable higher-level services to access online the archived trace and error data at all times. An example of one such service is the generation of a report in the pharmaceutical field, indicating the materials used and sent in production orders.

Extension mechanism

A system and method for executing a user agent in an electronic device. Upon each startup of the user agent, the electronic device loads binary code of a base version of the user agent into memory, and determines whether a binary patch has previously been downloaded. If the patch has been downloaded, it is applied to the base version and the updated base version is executed. The binary patch may be downloaded from a server, which compiles the binary patch on the basis of stored source code of the base version and stored source code of one or more enhancements selected by the electronic device.

Processor including fallback branch prediction mechanism for far jump and far call instructions

InactiveUS20050210224A1Digital computer detailsNext instruction address formationParallel computingAddress generator
A method and apparatus are provided for processing far jump-call branch instructions within a processor in a manner which reduces the number of stalls of the processor pipeline. The processor includes an apparatus, for providing a fallback far jump-call speculative target address that corresponds to a current far jump-call branch instruction. The microprocessor apparatus includes a far jump-call branch target buffer and a fallback speculative target address generator. The far jump-call branch target buffer stores a plurality of code segment bases and offsets corresponding to a plurality of previously executed far jump-call branch instructions, and determines if a hit for the current far jump-call branch instruction is contained therein. The fallback speculative target address generator is coupled to the far jump-call branch target buffer. In the event of a miss in the far jump-call branch target buffer, the fall back speculative target address generator venerates the fallback far jump-call speculative target address from a current code segment base and a current offset, the current offset corresponding to the current far jump-call branch instruction.

System and method for monitoring program code

A method, apparatus, and system are provided for monitoring of system resources. According to one embodiment, a monitor server may be used to monitor system resources, to collect monitoring data associated with the resources, and to provide the monitoring data to a destination. The monitor server may include a Java Management Extensions (JMX)-based monitor server. Further, a managed bean server having a registry of managed beans may be coupled with the monitor server to facilitate the monitor server to monitor the resources.

Integrated drug development software platform

InactiveUS20080134140A1Easy overlayingChemical property predictionMedical simulationGraphicsObservation data
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention relate to a platform facilitating different drug development software programs. In one embodiment, the integrated software platform includes a graphical environment for creating, storing, and manipulating workflows. The workflows depict operations that are to be performed by certain functional objects, and the flow of information between those objects. One example of an object is a model of drug behavior, disposition, and / or physiological response to drug activity, and certain embodiments allow for the graphical creation and editing of such a model. Other embodiments provide a user with the ability to easily overlay model predicted valves with observed data.

Method for handling missing values during data stream decision tree classification

InactiveCN104035779ASpecific program execution arrangementsSelf adaptiveClassification result
The invention belongs to the technical field of data stream mining, and particularly relates to a method for handling missing values during data stream decision tree classification. The method includes reading data samples in data streams and updating sliding windows; updating missing handlers if the missing handlers corresponding to attributes are available when the detected attributes in the current data samples have the missing values, or adaptively selecting and creating missing handlers according to characteristics of data if the missing handlers corresponding to the attributes are not available; supplementing the missing values in the data samples by the aid of the missing handlers to obtain complete data samples, training the complete data samples according to a Hoeffding decision tree classification process and returning data stream decision tree classification results. Compared with existing methods, the method has the advantages that the method is superior in time performance, the classification accuracy of decision tree models can be sufficiently guaranteed, accordingly, the time expenditure can be reduced, the time performance can be improved, the data stream classification handling speeds can be increased, and requirements of actual data stream handling application can be met.
