LED lamp assembly particularly adapted for automotive applications that utilizes one or more standard replaceable LED bulbs with changeable optics to make multiple beam patterns. Preferably the optic is molded and easily replaced. An electric module is mounted directly under the LED to facilitate the electrical connection and provide good thermal contact. The LED light source(s) and interchangeable optic are positioned and sealed in the base of a main reflector or the vehicle hull by means well known to those skilled in the art.

Extended area lighting devices include a light guide and diffractive surface features on a major surface of the light guide, at least some diffractive surface features adapted to couple guided-mode light out of the light guide. The diffractive features include first and second diffractive features disposed on respective first and second portions of the major surface. The multi-directional lighting fixture includes a lighting fixture having a substantially elongated opaque housing with first and second ends with an open top for emitting light in an upward direction and a longitudinal slot along the bottom surface of the housing extending between the first and second ends. The longitudinal slot includes a shielding material, such as a louver or cover, with a predetermined degree of light translucence. The housing has a substantially elliptical cross section tapering towards one end of the housing. The ends of the housing have elliptical translucent members that can transmit lighting horizontally and radially outward from the interior of the housing. A display apparatus including a backlight module and a transmissive display panel is provided. The backlight module includes a light guide plate, a patterned light scattering structure, and a light emitting device. The light guide plate has a first surface, a second surface opposite to the first surface, and a light incident surface connecting the first surface and the second surface. The patterned light scattering structure is disposed on the light guide plate or inside the light guide plate. The patterned light scattering structure includes a plurality of light scattering strips. The light emitting device is configured to emit an illumination light and the light incident surface is disposed on the path of the illumination light. The light scattering strips are configured to scatter the illumination light. The transmissive display panel is disposed beside the backlight module. The first surface faces the transmissive display panel.

A light emitting sheet module includes a light guiding sheet to cover a plurality of key switches, at least one LED disposed on at least one end portion of the light guiding sheet, and a circuit board disposed on the one end portion of the light guiding sheet on which the LED is disposed. When the light emitting sheet module is, mounted on a switch board, it is capable of adaptation to key switches in a wide variety of forms and to illuminate the key switches with light emission of high brightness.

An electric vehicle includes a control unit having overcurrent generation judgment unit, inverter selection unit, and inverter drive control unit. The overcurrent generation judgment unit judges whether an overcurrent is generated in an inverter for generation or an inverter for travel. When an overcurrent is generated in one of the inverters, the inverter selection unit selects the other inverter to be driven. The inverter drive control unit stops the driving of the one inverter and drives the other inverter to drive a travel motor or a generator.

The present invention relates to a backlight for a liquid crystal display (LCD). The backlight can comprise a back cover including a bottom plate and side covers, a light guide plate disposed on the bottom plate, and cold cathode fluorescence lamps (CCFLs) located on the sides of the light guide plate and enclosed by the side covers. The CCFLs can be disposed on four sides of the light guide plate. The CCFLs can be two lamps in L shape or four lamps in a straight line shape disposed on the sides of the light plate, with high voltage ends of one CCFL adjacent to the low voltage ends of another CCFL, thus allowing the LCD lighter, slimmer and more compact in structure.

The invention also provides a reflecting shade.
