The instant invention relates generally to catheters and to introducer catheters used to help deliver catheters or other medical devices to locations within the human body. In particular, the instant invention relates to large diameter catheters and introducer catheters having a torque transfer layer that includes at least two flat wires braided into a wire mesh. The flat wires have a width of at least about 0.007 inches and a depth of at least about 0.003 inches. The lumen diameter of the catheter is at least about 6 French. The torque transfer layer provides increased strength, flexibility, and kink resistance.

A vacuum suction apparatus with adjustment lever is disclosed. The structure of the vacuum suction apparatus includes a suction cup and a wheel base, which has a receptacle being attached by the suction cup from underneath, a semi-circular cogwheel being fixed on top of the receptacle, and an adjustment lever pivotally connected through an opening. The adjustment lever has a pinion on the bottom end, where the gearing of the pinion is to fit against corresponding gearing on the vertically erected rack at the center when the lever is in locked position. The upper portion of the lever also has a suction lock/release that allows the user to manually adjust the angle of the lever by pegging onto scooped cogwheel with a slider, so the suction strength can be adjusted desirably for continuously holding onto the same spot in extended use.

Provided is a novel modular tibial prosthesis that includes an articulation component formed by direct pressure molding of a resin composition into a tibial tray component to provide a factory formed resin-metal composite structure a tibial tray module. The tibial tray component being capable of releasable attachment to an underlying keel element. A method of manufacture of the tibial prosthesis is also disclosed.

An integrated infusion management system provides for stable support of components attached to the system, even when the system is mobile. The system is optionally a mobility assist or walker for a patient who is attached to any number of medical components. A central trunk connects to a two-sided base that does not interfere with patient motion. The trunk may be angled with respect to vertical and oriented to support medical components in a configuration that is tip-resistant. The system is optionally deployable to facilitate conversion between a compact storage configuration and a stable deployed configuration. In an embodiment, additional deployable features include holding arms for holding various medical components, wheels, mobility arms and handles. Also provided is a novel wheel system with deployable wheels and methods associated with providing compact storage of any one or more of the systems presented herein.

A bedbug protective coaster device supports a furniture leg of an article of furniture thereon. The device includes a body comprising a base member, a first annular wall and a second annular wall formed integrally with one another such that the furniture leg can be supported on a central area of the base member. The first and second annular walls surround the central area to define an annular space between the walls arranged to contain an insect barrier fluid therein. The integral body further includes an annular crevice formed in the body so as to surround the second annular wall. The annular crevice is arranged to receive a pesticide rated only for cracks and crevices therein. The device thus allows bedbug pesticides rated for cracks and crevices to be used in a barrier location between the floor and an article of furniture such as a bed.

A multi-layer packaging film is provided having at least four layers arranged in sequence comprising: (1) a heat-sealing first layer comprising at least 50% by weight of a copolymer of propene, and at least one α-olefin selected from the group consisting of ethylene, butene-1, methylpentene-1, hexene-1, octene-1, decene-1 and mixtures thereof, said copolymer having a propene content of at least 60 wt. %, a Tm between about 100° C. and about 145° C., a Mw/Mn of between 1 and 5, and n-hexane extractables of less than 4 wt. %; (2) second and fourth layers each comprising (a) at least 10 wt. % of a first copolymer of ethylene and at least one C₄-C₈ α-olefin, said copolymer having a density of from 0.900 to 0.915 g/cm³ and a melt index of less than 2 dg/min., (b) at least 10 wt. % of a second copolymer of ethylene with from 4 to 18 wt. % of a vinyl ester, alkyl acrylate, acrylic or methacrylic acid, and (c) from 0 to 60 wt. % of a third copolymer of ethylene and at least one C₃-C₈ α-olefin having a density less than 0.900 g/cm³ and a melting point less of between 65-98° C.; and (3) a third layer comprising at least 80% by weight of at least one copolymer of vinylidene chloride with from 2-20 wt. % (based on said copolymer) of vinyl chloride or methyl acrylate.

A vacuum insulation panel is provided comprising a core with a plurality of stacked non-woven organic free glass fiber sheets, plies, or net shape one piece glass fiber core and a vacuum sealed enclosure containing the core. The fiberglass sheets are formed from glass fibers having a nominal diameter of about 1.5-3.0 microns and the enclosure is formed from an annealed stainless steel foil. By bonding a blade tip lengthening section with a basic blade through a structural adhesive to increase the length of the blade, the purpose of improving the generating capacity is achieved. On the premise that the appearance of the basic blade is not destroyed, the structural adhesive can be uniformly and fully applied to an bonding area of the blade tip lengthening section and the original blade by constructing an adhesive injecting system, therefore, the bonding strength is effectively improved, the construction complexity is reduced, the construction time is shortened, and the construction cost is lowered.

A manufacturing method of an insole is characterized in that: the method comprising the following steps: selecting and preparing raw material, spraying a parting agent on the inner surface of an upper die body (21), padding insole surface cloth (12) on the inner surface of a lower die body (22), then closing a die (2), vacuumizing the die through an extractor vent (23) to cause the insole surface cloth (12) to be smoothly and firmly attached to the inner surface of the lower die body (22); blending a component a and a component b, injecting the mixture into the die (2) from a die sprue (24) and staying for 2-30 minutes; taking out the insole (1) with rough edges which combines the insole surface cloth (12) and polyurethane; deburring to obtain the finished product. The manufacturing method of the invention has the advantages that: the polyurethane surface at the reverse side of the insole is a non-membrane surface, when in use, the insole can be attached to the sole surface, thus solving the problem of easy sliding of the insole due to the change of an exerting point of the sole when people walk. In addition, when people stamp on the insole, a soft cushion structure of the insole produced by the method can lead to better shakeproof effect, causes people to feel soft and comfortable, and has the advantages of good intensity and convenient manufacturing.

A particulate co-processed composition comprising microcrystalline cellulose and at least one sugar alcohol is disclosed. A preferred sugar alcohol is mannitol. The composition has an improved compactability profile, lubricant sensitivity, and ejection profile compared to microcrystalline cellulose and the at least one sugar alcohol, either alone or in combination as a simple dry blend, in the preparation of solid dosage formulations, such as tablets. A method of preparing a composite element for forming a composite assembly having a cavity is disclosed. The method includes laying a barrier layer on a surface of the composite element which defines at least part of the cavity. A support assembly including a mandrel (38) and a film bag (40) extending on the surface of the mandrel is positioned with the film bag against the barrier layer. A sealed enclosure containing the composite element is formed through sealing engagement with the film bag. The pressure within the sealed enclosure is reduced, and the mandrel is separated from the film bag while maintaining the film bag positioned against the barrier layer. In one embodiment, the element is a stringer and is positioned against a skin. An assembly for forming a composite member is also provided.

A method and apparatus for producing an RF part of an antenna system is disclosed, as well as thereby producible RF parts. The RF part has at least one surface provided with a plurality of protruding elements. In particular, the RF part may be a gap waveguide. The protruding elements are monolithically formed and fixed on a conducting layer, and all protruding elements are connected electrically to each other at their bases via the conductive layer.
